About Wetherby Racecourse
You can trace horse racing at Wetherby back to 206 and Emperor Severus, in fact the area has had a remarkable hold on the region with a Leeds racecourse unable to draw people away.
Primarily a jumps course it has been situated at a variety of locations but settled on its current home on York Road in the early 20th century.
The last major development was the Millennium Stand, which was opened in February 2000, and the most significant change was hosting flat racing in 2015.
The start of the National Hunt season is usually seen to begin with Wetherby’s Charlie Hall meeting in early November.
