About Royal St George’s Golf Course
In 1894 this golf course played its part in golfing history for being the first to host The Open outside of Scotland
It shouldn’t have been a surprise as its founder, Dr. William Laidlaw Purves’ intention in 1887, was to create a course that rivaled St Andrew’s.
This ambition has not been dulled and the course is ranked amongst the leading golfing venues in the world.
Since 1894 St George’s has hosted 14 Open Championships on the Kent coast, more than any course outside of Scotland and in 2020 the Open Championship returns for the 15th time.
The excellent facilities and restaurant at the club make this a wonderful golfing destination the whole year round, and with London only 35 minutes away it’s an excellent destination for a mid-week round.
Call our friendly Operations team on 01256 635 000 and they will arrange everything for you. For an estimate use the form below.
