Atlas Helicopters: A Hugely Successful July of 2009
July 2009 has been a hugely busy month for all of those involved with Atlas Helicopters Ltd. Most of the major sporting events were well-attended including Glorious Goodwood, The Open Golf and the Festival of Speed. Whilst outdoor events such as Glastonbury, The Isle of Wight Festival and the CLA Game Fair were all attended by the Atlas Helicopter fleet.
The CLA Game Fair this year was held at Belvoir Castle near Grantham and was attended by in excess of 200,000 visitors over the 3-day period of the event. Atlas as per previous years, ran all of the helicopter activities including:
- Manning and running the busy heliport for visiting helicopters
- ‘Eye in the Sky’ Traffic Helicopter
- A helicopter shuttle service from 5-locations taking passengers in and out of the event
- Helicopter Pleasure Flights
To round off the weekend, Capt Mike Burns also had the pleasure of flying the BBC Countryfile crew around the event which was shown on BBC 1 last weekend.
Atlas Helicopters are now planning for a busy August schedule including the Manx Grand Prix where again they will be providing three helicopters performing air medevac operations.
